Hey, I'm Brandi Margaret!
A little about my eduction...
I attended Culinary School in Riverhead, New York from 2012-2014. I earned my associates degree in baking and pastry arts there. In the summer of 2013, I was fortunate enough to call Florence Italy my home. I continued my pastry education at Florence University of the Arts. Once my time at culinary school came to a close, I headed to Clemson University and began studying for a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Education. I was never able to finish my degree, as Clemson Confectioneries seemed to consume a majority of my time. However, I am eager and excited to one day return and walk across the Little John stage with my diploma in hand.
10 fun facts about me....
1.) The Sweet Potato Crunch Cupcake is my favorite! I used to eat them for breakfast.
2.) I often listen to Christmas music year round. It helps me concentrate; especially when I'm baking.
3.) I have a black golden doodle named Mowgli and a yellow lab named Honey!
4.) My favorite color is pink.
5.) My favorite movie is Father of the Bride. It's so innocently cute and makes me cry every single time.
6.) Due to a heart condition I've had since birth, I cannot eat anything with caffeine in it; chocolate, coffee, iced tea (AKA: all of the good stuff)
7.) I battle with anxiety and depression. Each week at the bakery I host a support group called "Cupcakes and Conversation" to help others battling the same.
8.) I'm lucky to be in love with my very best friend. His name is Christopher Carter and he's the most genuine and wonderful man ever ever ever.
9.) My favorite TV show is hands down Impractical Jokers.
10.) One of my favorite bible verses is Matthew 17:20. He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
That became a reality...
In March of 2015, I created an Instagram account to keep up with my pastry journey. Slowly but surely this little Instagram page turned into a business. I ran Clemson Confectioneries out of my Lightsey Bridge dorm room until June of 2015. After receiving my first large order for cupcakes, I realized I needed a bigger space. I took a big leap and moved into a spacious apartment complex called Aspen Heights! It was there that the business took off! On March 29th 2016 I officially started selling my cupcakes to the public full time. In the blink of an eye, this little bakery took off! I began to dream BIG and knew this apartment based bakery was much better suited for a storefront location. With A LOT of prayers, hard work, and dedication, I finally saw this vision come to fruition.
Here I am three years later looking upon the power of a little dream come true. It's such a wonderful feeling, and I am so proud to call Clemson Confectioneries home to some of the best cupcakes in the south.
